Carnation Cafe Main Street U.S.A Disneyland

One of Walt Disney's favorite restaurants inside of Disneyland, Carnation Cafe has that special touch that only it's creator Walt could've created!
How awesome is that to know your eating at a place that he ate at himself over 50 years ago?!

We got the chance to dine on a random Monday evening. Luckily I checked reservations on their phone app which allowed me to secure a spot and we were able to check in within an hour.
When we got to Carnation Cafe, needless to say, they were turning people away who did not have reservations.
(I highly recommend getting the official Disneyland app from the apple or play store. It can be a life saver while your at the park.)
They ended up seating us outside which is amazing because if you time it just right you get to watch the parade while eating. And, if so, I suggest reservations for the 7:30 spot.
I was expecting a much bigger menu but instead recieved a much smaller and simpler one page.
I went with the Meatloaf meal which consists of mashed potatoes with a mushroom gravy, seasoned veggies, and a bread roll.
This was Walts favorite meal at the park. And let me tell you guys I now know why and I agree with him:)
The meatloaf's meat is moist and well seasoned. The ketchup on the outside adds sweetness to the hardy bold meat taste. And the mushroom gravy gives it that salty savory taste that mixes so well when dipped in it.

Dang guys, it was good!!!
As for my husband he went with the Veggie Burger. He said it was just "ok".
I had to take a bite and try it out. Honestly, it's the worst veggie burger I have ever tried. Really mushy and bland.

If your vegetarian and have no other choice but to eat something inside the park do it but it tasted bland in my opinion. All bean flavor with no texture and little seasoning. My daughter got the boneless chicken kid's meal. Pretty much a chicken tender with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She loved it!
It's the same recipe as the Plaza Inn, which we frequent.

I highly recommend Carnation Cafe but mainly for the Meatloaf meal. All the other items can be found throughout other parts of the park.
Thanks for stopping by and reading:)x

April Haul/ mini Bats Day Black Market Haul (Disneyland)

So a lot of people might not know what Bats Day is or what the Black Market is. Well Bats Day is pretty much the day that a bunch of gothly inclined people come together and hang out at Disneyland. Over the years it has become a whole weekend of events with the Black Market happening at the Doubletree Hotel in Anaheim. A bunch of vendors (artists) sell their merchandise to cater to those visiting for Bats Day or those seeking Gothic decor they normally can't find outside of the month of October in stores.☻

Here is a mini haul video with the items I bought from there other items in April.

If your curious to see what the Black Market looks like here's a small footage of it.

Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney Review

This is a review for Torilla Jo's. It's located in the center of Downtown Disney right after passing by the tram entrance and the.pin trading post if you're coming in through DTD's parking.
What better way to celebrate my birthday than to eat Mexican food!

A tad bit of info DTD now limits your parking to 2 hours or 4 total with validation from a dine in restaurant.
Here are some pics of my food and other things inside.
There is a host that greets at the front.
Some nights there are large lines to get seated. If your coming for dinner make reservations just to be safe (the mistake we made a couple nights before and couldn't get in)

(They start you off with free salsa and chips, quac is extra but they make it in front of you)

The waitress was very attentative. Tip if you have children, bring cash. There's a ballon guy that will expect a cash tip. My husband didn't have much loose cash and the guy completely ignored our second child who was crying for one after he was tipped 2 dollars for the first ballon. (Update: balloon guy is contracted from an outside company)

(The ballon after the head popped:*()

Now for the food, it was ok.
I've had better else where. The tacos were middle of the road for me. Being from Mexican heritage I've had the best from my mom's kitchen, and Torilla Jo's are just ok.
I got the 3 item combo plate. The 3rd item was added at extra charge (shredded pork taco).
My tamale was a little bland and the beef taco wasn't as street taco I was hoping it was going to taste.
The 2nd taco, the shredded pork one was really good! Like El Toro restaurant good! The beans and rice were decent, but you can't really go wrong with those.

(I do recommend the shredded pork tacos meal, that was my fav item there)

(Hubby's plate, he liked his alot! He recommends the sea food enchilada, it has lobster, red snapper, and scallops with a cheese blend)

Would I come back?
Maybe, if I don't have to pay out of my own pocket. I like the 2 mexican restaurants inside the actual parks better. Just my personal taste choice. Your sorta just paying more for ambiance at Torilla Jo's. Tons of good authentic Mexican restaurants in Orange County.
Disneyland wise, it's ok if your outside of the actual park and you happen to be walking in Downtown Disney.
I also got a free dessert for it being my bday, however my husband had to tell them. Even with me wearing a big ass button on my blouse that said IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! LOL 😳😐

(The free dessert for your bday. Request if it's your big day too!)

Christmas at the Happiest Place on Earth! 2015

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays!
So what better thing to do than to wander around and snap some holiday pics for my blog :)
Some of these are hidden jems that are overlooked during the holidays but are part of the magical holiday decor.

Window display on main street.

Moon and stars tree in New Orleans Square.

Cute wreaths on poles next to Small World.

The Christmas tree added to Walt's apartment seen in the window.

Will add more pics as I head there next week.

Btw, visitors that aren't aware, Disneyland does not have their special Christmas parade this year. Instead it's still the 60th celebration parade Paint the Night.

Halloween Season - Disneyland Style

So I took it upon myself to wonder around Walts magic land and take pictures of some of the fun decor around the park...

Will update more pics as I continue visiting the park :)

Disneyland's 60th Anniversary, Some of the Amazing Merch

The official 60th anniversary isn't until July 17 but since Disneyland has been setting up leading to this date since the beginning of the year they had began the celebration by decorating the castle and finally by bringing out the amazing new fireworks display alongside the new "Paint the Night" parade on May 22.
Sadly I did not have a camera at hand when I did see the parade and fireworks on a different date recently to show you guys :(

But, they also did not skimp on the merchandise, which is what they really have become known for. They released some of the merch the wednesday before their 24 hour event.
Here are some pictures of the stuff I liked in some of their shops throughout the park the first day that they were released and some of the ones I ended up buying myself :)

I did not attend this years 24 hour event, nor did I want to since I did get to go the the first 24 hr event on Leap Year 3 years back. Heres the link to that blog post  http://thatdollnj.blogspot.com/2012/03/leap-year-2012.html

Dapper Day Boutique Event Downtown Disney

Today we had the chance to visit Downtown Disney on a rare occasion. Besides it being a Saturday, which my hubby rarely has off, but the fact that it was Dapper Day weekend. I'm sure it has to be called something else but that's pretty much what it is with them having it as a two day event. Sunday is the actual Dapper Day inside of Disneyland Park.

Today was filled with a handful of events hosted within Grand Californian Hotel right in the center of Downtown Disney. 20 vendors from the LA area brought the best from their vintage shops to display and sell their amazing vintage garbs and vintage accessories. Here is the event's actual page- http://dapperday.com/feb-23-2014-disneyland

Walking through the many mini shops was like a dream come true for me, wishing my home closet had some of those dresses and shoes. If only I had my younger figure and waistline. The prices weren't that bad either. Oh well, maybe next year after my *wink* diet. Sigh.

Disneyland's Halloween Not So Scary Party!!!

We got hooked up with super cheap tickets thanks in part to my friend's sister in law. $40 dollars for each ticket where normally a regular ticket is about a hundred and you get to get into both parks on a regular day. For the Halloween Party you can only enter the main Disneyland park, which is perfectly fine by me. We got to go in 3 hours prior to the event. With those extra 3 hours we got to ride a couple rides and eat some delicious Disneyland food. I'm not just bragging but they have some good fried chicken that you can not go wrong getting:) accompanied with mashed potatoes and green beans.
What can be better then dressing up in a costume in the most awesomest park? Getting candy inside of course!
We only got in 6 lines and walked away with 4 bags (that they give you at entrance to use to trick or treat inside) completely full of good name brand candies and chocolates! Our bags were so heavy our arms were hurting from the weight by the end of the night.
We got to also see a special Halloween parade where all the characters were dressed in their Halloween costumes. We got to take pictures with them in different locations throughout the park.
The best part of the night, if everything else wasn't enough, were the fireworks. It was the best firework display that I have ever seen in all the years that I've been an annual pass holder. I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't had the chance to experience this event, but here's a hint- if you love Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas you will be in awe:)

Disneyland's Halloween Party Tickets

I'm super excited!!! We have Disneyland tickets for the Halloween Not So Scary Party Event! I looked them up online out of curiosity and people are paying mad money for them on eBay. No joke! Over 300 dollars for a pair! I'm so glad my friend's sister in law got them for us mega cheap thanks to the fact that she works there:)
This will be my second year attending. I got our costumes for us a couple weeks back. Will post pictures up when we go to the event.

Leap Year 2012

I normally wouldn't plan any special event to celebrate this occasion on the calender since it really has no real importance in my life. To be honest I had completely forgotten what Leap year was. The only reason I was even reminded is when I logged onto my facebook and one of my friends on there commented about Disneyland being open for 24 hours. WTH? So I thought to myself they must be full of it and are lying or there really is something going on and I was not aware about it.
Turns out they were telling the truth and I had no idea it was going to really happen. I guess Disneyland was celebrating and allowing the park to run 24 hours like a normal day would but all the way through the night until 6 a.m. the next day after leap day. This, to me, was history in the making. What if they decided never to do this event again. I had to go. I went there with a friend and her sister. We got there a little after nine at night. We didn't get to the parking structure till after ten. Yeah, parking was insane all the way to the street. Cars were so jammed up that cops had to keep escorting cars to get by.
Eventually we made our way to the gates only to discover a huge line from California Adventure all the way leading to the front Disneyland gates. We had waited in traffic that long why not wait in these lines too? Hell, we were waiting for over an hour and a half! Our patience running low we finally ditched the line and headed to IHOP across the street to go eat.
Afterwards we walked back. The line was almost all the way in and very short. We quickly jetted in line to get in. Thank goodness! Yay, we got in! By the time we entered it was 15 after one in the morning. We rushed in to get in line to Indiana Jones- which was not as easy as I write but I'm cutting this short in details because it was crazy packed inside. The wait- over 2 hours. Yes, for one stink'n ride. Well worth it once we got on it but still 2 freak'n hours!? I could've gone on 5 rides in that time on a regular weekday!
Oh well, all for a Leap Year's experience in the most Magical Place on Earth. I didn't get home till almost five a.m. Thats the latest I've been out since my early 20's. Fun times!

Magical Place on Earth!!!

Today we went to Disneyland, which was amazingly NOT packed, like it normally is. Note to myself - February is the best month to be here at the most magical place on earth!!! It's days like today where I wish I could live there. Lol! No joke. If I could live in the dream suite I would and dine at club 33 everyday:) Now that is a kids dream.
We only got to hangout for a couple hours though, low on energy big time today. Haven't been getting enough sleep in the past few days and my body finally wanted to rest. Almost knocked out on the ride back home which I never do. No matter how far we've driven I have never taken a nap while the hubby drives. Well today I dosed off here and there. Damn seat gave my neck a cramp by the time we got home.
Didn't have to make dinner thanks to my MIL who made us a small snack. We hungout and got to watch the movie "The Help". Boy, I didn't think it was going to be as great as everyone kept claiming with the newcomer actress Emma Stone leading. And guess what? I was wrong! Best movie I've seen in a loong long time. Great actors! Great script! Great company! Totally recommend it!
Enjoyed my little family very much today. And also got a much needed nap (;
